My husband recently died. The mortgage was in his name, I was able to get my name onto the deed. I am now trying to refinance the mortgage, but the company continues to dragout proceeding. My credit is poor, what are my other options?

I just became a US green card holder in Jan 2014. My parents are Canadian citizens living in Canada and own a house in Canada. My parents are 70 and are thinking passing the house to me. I am in so much debt, Iam disable on a monthly income. I resently opened a second chance bank account, that is now in over-draft trouble. I tried to pay a $9.49 check to a church, they did'nt get the money when I had it there. Should I close the account? I was also trying to get a modification from my mortgage servicer. Thanks in advancce.
