Mitchell Freedman, CPA/PFS
Mr. Freedman specializes in performing Personal Financial Planning, Tax Planning and Preparation, Investment Advising, Wealth Management, Disaster Planning, and Elder Planning for his clients. His clients include Performing and Creative Artists, Executives, Business Owners, and Salaried individuals. He was one of the first CPAs to obtain the PFS designation, in the 1980s and has been an advocate for CPAs, as trusted and knowledgeable advisors, to perform such services for clients. Mr. Freedman has served on a number of Personal Financial Planning and other committees for the AICPA, California Society of CPAs, and the New York State Society of CPAs. He is a founder, director, former treasurer and former chair of California Jump$tart Coalition, a not-for-profit organization with the mission to improve the financial literacy of California's youth. He is Vice President of Westlake rs, a social organization which provides college scholarship funds to worthy and needy seniors at Westlake and Aroura High Schools.
Mr. Freedman has been a frequent speaker and his been often cited by the media related to Personal Financial Planning and other business subjects. He is a former instructor in Personal Financial Planning for California State University, Northridge and a former Adjunct Professor in accounting for the Adelphi University Graduate School of Business.
He co-authored, Guide to Planning for Performing and Creative Artists, and Guide to Planning for Divorce for the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Library.
