Meet the Money Doctors

We've assembled a volunteer panel of qualified CPAs that have attained the Personal Financial Specialists (PFS) credential for comprehensive financial planning to act as Money Doctors and answer questions from consumers regarding their financial planning issues. The program is offered as a public service and is designed to help and protect consumers by providing guidance on basic financial planning issues.

Richard P. Meehan

Richard P. Meehan, CPA/PFS

Rich is a trusted financial advisor and financial advocate for his clients at Meehan & Associates, where families and entrepreneurs benefit from his ability to bring financial clarity and peace of mind to financial affairs.  Rich's financial advice makes sure that tax, accounting and financial planning are critical components of every financial decision.  Rich has extensive experience managing the financial affairs of families and entrepreneurs, especially in the sports and entertainment industries.


Jim Minor, CPA/PFS

Eleven years experience as a CPA helping our clients see the financial picture from cash flow, budgeting and debt reduction to retirement and estate planning.


Lawrence Pon, CPA/PFS

I enjoy helping clients reach their financial goals through comprehensive tax and financial planning.   My main specialty is taxes and I help clients with their tax planning to make sure they are paying the minimal amount of taxes.    I prefer to look at the big picture to see what makes sense for the client.   I’ve been giving tax and financial planning advice to clients for the past 25 years.   I speak to fellow tax professionals and financial advisors on a regular basis on various tax and financial planning topics.    

Michael Repak

Michael Repak, CPA/PFS

Michael Repak is an attorney and a CPA/PFS who provides financial and estate planning services. Prior to joining Janney, he managed a solo elder and estate law practice. He had 10 years of Big 8 experience. He received his JD from the University of Florida and his LLM from NYU.


David A. Scott, CPA/PFS

David Scott became a Certified Public Accountant in Tennessee in March of 1980 and holds the PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) designation. He received a Bachelors of Business Administration from Memphis State University, where he graduated Cum Laude.

Mr. Scott spent 17 years as the Managing Partner of Scott & Pohlman, P.C., the CPA firm that he founded in 1988. While working for over thirty years in public accounting, Mr. Scott helped clients in the areas of income tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, business succession planning, and later investment and insurance planning. He began to focus more on working with high net worth individuals on comprehensive financial planning and wealth management.

Mr. Scott is employed by Scott Financial Services, Inc. and is registered with SagePoint Financial, Inc., a member of FINRA and SIPC. SagePoint Financial, Inc.. is not affiliated with AICPA and does not provide tax, accounting, or legal services.


Chad P. Tramp, CPA/PFS

Chad has over 20 years of experience serving individuals and closely held businesses in the tax, assurance, accounting, finance and investment areas. He leads the wealth management practice in McGladrey’s Des Moines, IA office.  Chad helps clients develop plans for cash flow, income tax, estate and gift, investment and retirement.

Leonard Wright

Leonard C. Wright, CPA/PFS

Leonard has appeared on Channels 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada and Channel 7’s annual tax tip line in Los Angeles, California, has numerous radio interviews across the United States, appeared in, quoted in and, and has been a resource to The Orange County Register business department. He is currently a grass roots National Spokesperson for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
