my wife and i got a divorce last year. in DEC OF 2012 INSURANCE WAS DUE ON HOUSE , I LIVE IN SHED THAT IS ATTACHED TO HOUSE. MY PART IN DIVORCE WAS SHED ATTACHED TO HOUSE WITH THE LOT NEXT TO MY HOUSE AND BACK OF LOT HOUSE IS BUILT ON. MY INSURANCE MAN SAID THAT IF MY X WIFE WAS NOT GOING TO INSURE THE HOUSE I SHOULD SO THAT IF THE HOUSE BURNT THEN IT WOULD BURN MINE. SO I DID AND MY X WIFE FELL IN JAN 13 IN THE HOUSE UP STAIRS IN TUB ON A TILE THAT I HAD INSTALLED WITH THE WRONG KIND OF CEMENT. THEY HAVE X RAYED HER HEAD AND FOUND NO BLEEDING AND ALSO HER BACK ITS OKAY BUT SHE HAS MEMORY LOSE BAD AND YESTERDAY SHE THOUGHT SHE SEEN TWO MEN ON SECURITY CAM AND CALLED POLICE, THERE WAS NO ONE THERE I EXPLAIND TO POLICE THAT SHE HAD FELL IN JAN AND THAT I WOULD WATCH HER. SHES O N MEDICAID ABD I THINK THEY RAN OUT OF FUNDS AND SENT HER HOME BUT IVE KNOWN HER ALL HER LIFE AND SHE IS DIFF. I CALL INSURANCE COM. HE CAME OUT AND SAID THAT SHE WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE SHE LIVES IN HOUSE. IS THIS RIGHT BECAUSE SHE DOES OWN THE HOUSE IT WAS THE INSURABCE MAN WHO TOLD ME TO INSUR IT . I JUST ASK HIM COULD HE HELP HER AND LETS SEE IF AND WHAT SHES GOING TO NEED FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE OR TILL ALL HER MIND COMES BACK.IS SHE COVERED AND IF SO WHAT WILL IT BE UNDER ON COVERERAGE

You took the right step to take action on the advice of your insurance agent. You should pull out your policy and spend some time reading what it covers. There is quite a bit of legal language, but I would suggest you copy the policy, then highlight on the copy and make notes as to what each section means for your coverage. There are always policy limitations for certain events when they occur.

If your understanding of the policy is different from what the insurance company is saying to you, then you may want to consider contacting an insurance adjustor. Insurance adjustors are not free.
