With a universal life policy is it better to take out a loan or an advancement? If an advancement, will that reduce both the policy face value and the cash value?

Our son graduated from college. We have 38,000.00 in parent loans. The interest rate Sallie Mae charges we will end up paying double what we borrowed in interest. We are set up on a 10 year loan and every 2 years the payment increases by a couple hundred dollars. We will not be able to afford it. Any suggestions on a better way to pay this ?

Hello, I have a 1st and 2nd mortgage on my home. 1st is 98,000, 4.6% conventional loan/$720/ mo. 2nd is 58,000 4.3% HUD Loan/$340/mo. I would like to refinance to combine the 2 loans. A friend of ours was helping us in our home . Electric saw jumped and cut of parts of 3 fingers. His work is not going to pay him during time off. Surgeon is saying 12 weeks. Is there anything our homeowners policy could help with?
