Question

My father went into a nursing home this year and then after 4 months passed away is any of his care (all out of pocket)deductable on his wifes income tax? Thanks for your response

Answer

Yes.   Nursing homes are deductible medical expenses on Schedule A to the extent the they exceed 7.5% of his Adjusted Gross income.
