MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY WHEN I WAS 15 YEARS OLD, I AM NOW 29. SHE WAS DISABLED AND WAS RECIVING DISABILITY BENNIFTS. SHE DID WORK WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER. I WAS TOLD I SHOULD OF RECIVED SURVIVAL BENNIFTS. SHOULD I HAVE?Answer
Fist let me share my sympathies with you. Despite it''s being 14 years since your mom passed I''m sure those last years have been hard, especially the first few.
Yes. as a child your guardian should have received Social Security benefits on your behalf. I would first check with whomever was your guardian. Then, as a safeguard and doublecheck I would contact Social Security (have your mom's ss# handy).
Happy New Year!!!
