Question for the Money Doctors

Question

Hello.

I am a twenty-five year old bankruptcy paralegal. My passion is to go to law school and become a lawyer. But, at this point, I don''t have the money to attend law school.

I have 5k in student debt, and 12k in credit card debt. I''m only bringing in 1,100/mo for now. I''m also currently working on certifications to become a court interpreter and translator. My questions is: How can I use my professional experience to pay for law school? I want to avoid loans as much as possible.

Thank you.

Answer

Will your employer pay anything? Will they loan you money?

I assume you will go to law school at night?

I would check with both the school and a local bank regarding obtaining a loan (deferred if possible). Other than that check around for another job that will pay for such courses or even a larger company.
