My son graduated in May. He is 24. He lives at home and is supported by us. he became employed in September and earned approx. $7000. The way I read the 1040 instructions, I cannot claim him as a dependent since he earned over $3900. Is this correct? It doesn't seem logical-who could live on $3900?

I recently got married and am trying to decide whether or not to change my W4 to married. I usually get a tax return. I know that changing my W4 to married means less taxes will be witheld, but will that come back to bite me at tax time, and should I then file married filing jointly or married filing separately? Which will end with me not paying taxes at tax time?...
