The state says they over paid me in unemp[loyment benifits in 2009. They say i need to pay back now i have it down to 1800.00 from 2200.00, but I did appeal and did that four times and won three out of the four and they still making me pay them back. if unemployed they take all of my benifits to do that. Greetings: I am currently living overseas but I am doing 1099 contract work for a company in the USA and the company does NOT have operations in the foreign country that I reside in. The company in the USA has issued a 1099 for monies paid to me. Am I obligated to pay taxes as if I were residing in the USA under these circumstances? Thanks in advance...

Hi, Iam from India. I will be working in US for one year. I will be paid salary in my home country. When iam in US my company pays me for the apartment and car. They just pay me food allowance of $39. Should i have to pay tax if iam paied more than $39 per day. please advice. Thank you Lakshmi.G

I have a 1st mortgage of $123K (5.5%), a heloc frm credit union w/balance of $75 (3.9%), credit card debt of $19K. I tried to refinance 1st mortgage but since my credit union has 2nd position, they won''t sign off on lower finance rate for firsts if ltv is lower than 80%. Got any ideas?
