My son owns a garage where he does auto repairs. Has only business checking. Is there any reason why he should not use that account to pay rent or regular items, providing, the taxes are separate and logged only for business items???

I owe over $1000 each on about 5 credit cards that charge a 2 digit interest rate. My job is over 50 miles one way from my house and my husband has been on unemployment for some time. I was paying over $100 each month on each card (more than the minimum payment) until gas prices went up so high. Now I am paying almost $600 a month just to get to my job. Would it be...

My question has to do with mortgages. My parents have one more payment left on their mortgage (finally!). They have some improvements that need to be made to the home (new furnace, some remodeling in the bathroom), and are wondering how to best finance that. Should they be refinancing their existing mortgage, getting a home equity line of credit or a different method...

My wife runs a small business from our home. Here is a look at our financials for the past few years - Son Born in 2004 - Daughter Born in 2006 - 2nd Daughter Born in 2008 - Declared...

I recently did a rollover of my mutual funds to a variable annuity with 6% annual return. I would like your opinion of the advantages and disadvantages of this change. I am retired and understand I must take 4% when I am 70 (Oct.2012). Thank you for you opinion.

We have 8 years left on our mortgage which is a fixed at 5% and have a home equity line, if we get a gift of funds that would be enough to pay off the balance would it make sense to pay it off, even though we are concerned about future income levels?

My wife and I have the same old, "should we invest our money, or pay down debit?" We''ve looked into this quite a bit, but feel that our situation is a little different than others. For starters, we''re both healthcare professionals who make a roughly $145,000 a year combined pre-tax. Most of the time we read about people who have this question, but do not have...
