My mother wants a new suv and she wants to pay cash for it. I can get her a new jeep cherokee @36 mionths ,0% financing,and I think she should leave her $28,000 drawing interest,but she doesn''t want a monthly payment. I think she will lose a lot of interest if she forks over the cash. What is the best approach?

My father passed 1/31/2012. I am 28 years old and I am the only child born to him. My mom is 58 years old and they were never legally married. they have been together for over 25 years. An expatriate is gifting a piece of foreign property located in Mexico to her daughter who is a US citizen. Is the transaction taxable to the daughter? Would the answer change if the expat is still a US citizen but lives the majority of time in Mexico?

I have a sears mastercard and i used it for one transaction and nothing else. Now after almost two years of having the account with no transactions i notice a 2500 transaction. i inquire the customer service and they inform me they cannot get rid of the transaction because it belongs to a collection agency. I signed a PLUS loan for my third son, with the understanding that he would pay it back.He has not done so, and now I have 2 other children in college, while that son is in medical school. I''m 53 and disabled - I''m on SSDI? Not on SSI my wife just passed and contacted SS administration and filled out paperwork - said that I was entitied to Survivors Benefits - my question, my wife''s LIFE INSURANCE am I going to run into problems with cashing this check (about 18K)? My father died when I was 4 years old. My mother wasn''t a mother at all. Delaware county took custody of me. Was I entitled to get my fathers death benefits or was it ok that the state took them?
