Justine Devito Tenney, CPA/PFS
Justine DeVito Tenney is a Partner at WeiserMazars LLP, one of the largest accounting and consulting firms in the US, and manages WeiserMazars' Private Business Group out of Weiser's Lake Success office.
Justine is a graduate of St. John's University, where she earned a BS in Accounting, minoring in Economics, and later, an MBA in Finance. Justine began her career at a "big eight" accounting firm, at the time as one of the few women who were working in the field of public accounting. She started a family, and was an early pioneer in work life balance. While her three children were young, she worked on a flex-time basis (almost unheard of at that time) for a local CPA firm in New York City. She also was an assistant professor and taught accounting courses at St. Francis College and Wagner College. Eventually, she took on greater responsibilities at the firm, and became its first woman partner in 1987.
At WeiserMazars, Justine draws on her many years of experience to assist professional service firms, not-for-profit organizations, emerging businesses and high-net worth family groups and is proud to be considered a trusted advisor by her clients. She has broad experience in both taxes and accounting, and has developed a specialty practice in providing accounting services to business entities, including acting as CFO and handling the complete accounting function for clients, eliminating their need for an internal accounting department. She also has developed and manages a Family Office practice, where the personal business needs of individual clients and family groups are served.
In addition to being a CPA, Justine has the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the AICPA, and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She assists her clients with tax and financial planning, including wealth transfers, charitable gifting strategies and provides guidance on cash and asset management.
Justine is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and National Organization of Italian American Women, participates in the St. John's University Executive in Residence Program, has served on the Board of Governors of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School and is a member of the Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School Alumnae Committee. She was one of the founders of the Weiser Women's Network, which was established to focus on career development for Weiser's talented women professionals.
Justine has written numerous articles for business publications and enjoys speaking to groups of entrepreneurs about accounting tax, and financial issues facing emerging businesses.State: New York
